1. Description.

A unique material

Exclusive, one of a kind, sculpting material for children and adults. Easier to use than any other material.

It lasts as stone, it can be carved as wood, it has the hardness of frozen sand.

Physicochemical properties

SculptureÒ is a composite made from any particulate material (i.e., sand, dolomite, quartz, rubber powder) and new or recycled plastic (P.E.T. or polyethylene).

It is a sculpting synthetic material that can be chiseled and eroded with simple tools : a table spoon, a nail, or any metal object. It looks like a porous stone (see photos at the end).

It melts at 110 centigrade degrees (230 deg. Fahrenheit). The pieces and powder can be easily recycled into new blocks.

SculptureÒ can be manufactured in a wide hardness range, according to different user ages and abilities. The softest can be used by children aged 4 or 5, the hardest by professional artists using electric drills and regular stone-carving elements.

Finished pieces can be painted or chemically treated for protection.

The material resists most physical and chemical agents : water, sun, alcohol, heat, cleaning products. Art works made of SculptureÒ last forever.

It is usually made in 8 cm (3 in.) sided cubes, weighing around 1 kg (2.2 lb). For professional use can be produced in larger blocks or cylinders.

Can be made in any color. White, red, blue, green and black are the more usual ones.

SculptureÒ melts at 110 degrees centigrade.

This fact makes the material highly recyclable.

Melted SculptureÒ can be used to mold objects for serial production or special effects.

Heat (hot air pistol, burner) can be safely used to shape and polish the material. A simple technique to polish the surface of an artwork is as follows: The surface is covered with aluminum foil. A hot iron is applied to it for a couple of minutes. (with some pressure). The foil is removed after a few hours.

SculptureÒ is safe for children.

Powder resulting from working on SculptureÒ blocks or pieces is very thick and heavy, and does not form aerosols. This is the main difference with traditional sculpting materials (stone, concrete, chalk, plaster) which can cause inhalation and health problems.

It does not stain. It is easy to collect, dispose or recycle.

SculptureÒ is not toxic and has no odor or flavor. It burns, but is not flammable.

It is not likely to be swallowed.

Objects that can be made with SculptureÒ :

All but those that hold lightened objects (ashtrays, candle holders).

Pen holders, flower pots, plant pots, statues, masks and all kind of objects.

SculptureÒ is Ecological

It can be made from recycled materials, for instance used tires and bottles.

It can be recycled into new sculpting blocks.

Being elementary schools its main market, recycling can be institutionally organized. Besides sculpting, transformation of trash into art can also be an educational goal.

Protection of SculptureÒ against copy and imitation.

Besides USA and Argentine patents the product is protected by very recents developments in manufacturing that make it more economic to produce and provide enhanced features. The inventor is the only current holder of that technology, which will be included in the whole license package.

The brand SculptureÒ is registered in Argentina, Brazil and in the USA

Some Pedagogic reasons for sculpture teaching in elementary schools.

Sculpture is different from modeling, because it requires planning and tridimensional thinking. In sculpting, as in life, it is impossible to go back.

Sculpting is not only Art education, is is also an important tool in teaching movement, hand-eye coordination, and ideation.

We believe that only the lack of a suitable material has kept Sculpture teaching out of schools.

Sculpting can also be used in special education and rehabilitation programs. Handicaped users can sell their artworks or devices and support themselves.

2. Markets.

Schools

Its main current market is the educational. Children can use begin to use it in kindergarten.

Soft, medium and hard blocks are used for different ages and levels of expertise.

Market Test in Sao Paulo, Brazil

SculptureÒ was widely produced and marketed in private schools in the large industrial city of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

After an initial trial period of 2-3 months, most schools adopted the teaching of sculpture using our product.

Actually, the teachers sold the product to the parents, in the compulsory way that other learning elements are imposed.

Our client base grew steadily, based on mouth to mouth recommendation. Young artists showing off their creations were our best (unpaid) sales representatives.

In 3 years we faced no complaints and no competence.

The 1 kg blocks sold in some markets at 3 U$D each, being the large-scale manufacture and distribution cost very modest.

Many schools, city buildings and shopping malls hosted free sculpting workshops for children. One teacher, SculptureÒ blocks, Table spoons, nails and similar tools, and our video playing in the background was all that we needed. At the end of the show, the young artists could buy or leave their finished art work (to be used as a sample, if good, or recycled, if bad).

The test finished when the inventor closed the production plant and moved back to Buenos Aires, for family reasons.

We have photos, art pieces and videos that illustrate this market experience.

Most of our former customers are still interested in buying the product. They have not replaced it.

Artistic Market

This is our secondary market. Professionals, street artists, weekend sculptors and art-oriented people value the fast turnaround of Sculpture. Anyone can start and finish an artwork in one or two hours, while the typical stone-carved sculpture takes months.

The same advantages as in child education apply here.

Sculpting with SculptureÒ is much easier and faster than with conventional materials.

Art works by known artists are an important aid for the widespread knowledge about the product.

This adult artist market guarantees permanent, high-price paying buyers.

The product can be made in different shapes, sizes and colors. Starter kits comprising one SculptureÒ block, a booklet, a set of carving tools and some paint could be sold in toy and artist stores.

Franchising

The sale of Sculpture can be organized as a franchise. The company which buys the manufacturing rights for a given country can provide the product and the marketing know-how for the franchisees. Territories can be easily established on the basis of school districts.

We are organizing this structure in Buenos Aires, trying to reach the whole country.
